Our 1930’s Fashion Future Forecasted

Fashion / Style / November 1, 2010

I’ve always wondered what we thought we’d look like today from an earlier perspective. What did we think fashion trends would be?  How about hairstyles? Shoes?

My question has just been answered by this short clip made by Pathetone Weekly in the 1930’s. In the video clip made nearly 80 years ago, fashion trends were predicted by fashion designers as to what we would be wearing in the year 2000.

Many of the forecasts border on ridiculousness, but there are one or two ideas that look vaguely familiar, like the transparent knit or the shoes. My favorite:  Electric headlight to help find an honest man.
