Mondo Guerra, runner-up and audience favorite in Project Runway’s season eight, has teamed up with piperlime.com to design two limited edition T-shirts that will go on sale starting December 1, 2010 in conjunction with World AIDS Day.

In an episode of Project Runway’s Season 8, designers were challenged to create a look that had a special meaning or memory.

For the challenge, Mondo created a dress with positive signs, revealing to the judges (and his family) for the first time, that he is HIV positive.

Mondo says:

I believe fashion can serve a purpose so I designed these T-shirts with the idea of loving and communicating with one another.

The tree is a symbol of growth and loving yourself and the skull represents family and friends and remembering those who have passed.

The shirts will be sold for $50.00 exclusively on piperlime.com and for each shirt sold, $20 will be donated to amFAR, an organization devoted to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research.
