Washington DC’s Art Whino to Host Marcatus Monthly Arts Festival

Art / DC Local / March 11, 2011

Sundays in Washington D.C. just got more interesting with the announcement of Art Whino’s new creative market, Marcātus.

Every first Sunday of the month, starting on April 3rd and running through August, Art Whino will host a multidimensional day-long event at The Yards Park featuring artist exhibitors, live music, performances, and exotic foods.

This year’s premiere on Sunday, April 3rd will host the FORWARD Festival’s Closing-Day Party. Entering its 4th year in the DC Area, FORWARD Festival is a 5-day celebration of electronic creative culture featuring music, educational workshops and digital art installations.

Art Whino’s founder Shane Pomajambo tells MO:

“We are very excited to open our doors to all DMV artists and allow for a platform for these great artists to shine and allow patrons to stroll through a massive over 200 person art market.”

And if you’ve ever been to an Art Whino party or exhibit, you’ll know that the five-month long Marcātus market is probably something you don’t want to miss.
