CONFIRMED: ‘Sex and The City’ Prequel Coming to CW Network

TV / September 14, 2011

The Carrie DiariesAttention, calling all Sex and the City fans!

The prequel to SATC The Carrie Diaries will finally be a show on the CW network.

TV big guns like Gossip Girl executive producers Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage have signed on to produce the show, along with former SATC writer, Amy Harris, who will write for the show.

Candace Bushnell, the famous author behind the novels that created the hit HBO series,  is also a producer. However, there is no word yet if Sarah Jessica Parker who produced and starred in the hit show, and creator Darren Star, is involved in the project.

The new show will feature Carrie in her senior year in high school and draw from elements from Carrie’s adult life as seen in the HBO series.

Despite the big names involved, we can’t help but wonder how the new show would play out to audiences given the lack of success from the second SATC movie. Would watching a young trendy Carrie in her formidable high school years be enough to attract a new generation of fans?

Regardless, it would be entertaining for us to get a recap of 80’s fashion.
