World-renowned photographer Steven Klein captures the grace and distinction of an aging beauty in the stunning editorial for the September 2011 issue of W Magazine, “One for the Ages.”

The provocative editorial features model and actress Amber Valletta and her transformation from a seductive flapper partying before the stock market crash in 1929 to an elegant modern woman in 2019. With the use of makeup and prosthetics, the editorial reinvents the concept of aging. In a society where nips and tucks are the response when mother nature sets forth, the imagery in this nine page spread portrays a heroine who is strong willed and stays true to aging gracefully.

The dark setting appears to pay homage to the haunting evolution that is taking place, and the feeling that ones’ identity has become lost over time. This heroine’s physical appearance depreciates with each decade, but with timeless fashion draped on her, she continues to exude confidence and sex appeal. As she continues to age, Valletta is still surrounded by her young suitors played by Brian Shimansky and Matthew Costsworth.

The dramatic narration showcases fashion by Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Prada, Chanel, Givenchy, Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Gucci, Salvatore Ferragamo, and John Galliano.
