In November of last year, it was announced that Savage Beauty, the Alexander McQueen retrospective exhibit would open on May 4, 2011 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City.

Since then, fashion enthusiasts have been anticipating the exhibit, which would feature work from the entire course of McQueen’s career, from his postgraduate designs at Central Saint Martins in London to his final runway show in February 2010.

In the most exciting reveal yet, Director Thomas P. Campbell and Costume Institute curator Andrew Bolton have released a few images from the exhibit which you can see below by clicking on the images in the gallery.

The entire exhibition will be revealed at this year’s Costume Institute Gala at the Met on May 2 and will open to the public from May 4 through  July 31, 2011.

We can’t wait to see McQueen’s genius in person! Will you be attending the exhibit?
