With news of the recently sold out Prada ‘flatform’ creeper, and the popularity of the flatform loafer, one must ask, is fashion having an ugly shoe moment?
Everyone’s talking flatform, which is essentially a shoe hybrid of a flat and platform, as the must-have item for summer and spring.
Telegraph fashion says the aesthetically challenged shoe is “spring’s hottest new shoe trend” while The Cut says,“Don’t just conform — this spring, flatform!”
I don’t buy it.
Really, if Frankenstein and fashion had a baby, then certainly you’d have something that resembles these birth control clunkity-clunk-clunk shoes.
Perhaps this may be the one occasion when using the term “victim of fashion” is actually relevant.
What do you think? Flatforms, love em’ or loathe em’?
