For the house of Dior, it has been the year of fashion rumors. With the rapid departure of John Galliano (for you know what), the fashion house has been scurrying to replace its iconic designer.

For a moment, Sarah Burton of Alexander McQueen seemed to be the front runner, especially after her much touted design of Kate Middleton’s royal wedding dress.

Now, the rumor mills are buzzing, and according to The Austrialian, Marc Jacobs is the man on top. Jacobs currently designs for Louis Vuitton and his namesake lines. With his renewed contract with LVMH–which owns both Louis Vuitton and Dior–Jacobs is a strong possibility.

But would Jacobs make the move to Dior, or design for both fashion houses?

LVMH chairman, Bernard Arnault hopes that Jacobs would chose between one of the two lines.

In the meantime, Jacobs has denied that he has been even offered the position.

Do you think that Jacobs is the best choice for head designer at Dior or is there a better fit?
