Sarah Burton Wins ‘Designer of the Year’

This week’s British Fashion Awards (BFA) gave Sarah Burton—noted fashion designer for the House of McQueen–the coveted award of Designer of the Year.
Burton, a longtime employee of McQueen was ushered in as the new Creative Director in September of 2010, and has been wowing the public with her designs which includes her critically acclaimed collections, as well as Kate Middleton’s royal wedding dress.
“This feels like the icing on the cake on a really amazing year,” the designer said during her acceptance speech at the awards.
Amazing is right – out of tragedy, Burton has managed to create beautiful works that maintain McQueen’s legacy of bold and elegant fashion.

BFC OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN FASHION – Paul Smith
