According to the Ovarian Cancer Research Foundation, Ovarian cancer is the leading cause of death from gynecologic cancers in the United States, and I can personally testify to that, having lost my mother to cancer after a three year battle with the disease in 2009.

Needless to say, when I heard that shoe designer Stuart Weitzman was partnering up with celebrities to benefit the Folkman Institute in Boston, I was more than pleased.

Weitzman recruited starlets Scarlett Johansson, Hayden Panettiere, Olivia Palermo and Michelle Trachtenberg to co-create the Young Hollywood Cares Collection, a line of shoes in which a portion of the sales will benefit ovarian cancer research.

The collection will be available at the designer’s flagship boutiques beginning August 22 as well as on the StuartWeitzman.com website.

Now that’s what I call feel-good footwear.
