Left: Eva Marcille Right: Taylor Jacobson
The Oxygen Network welcomes two new series’ to their lineup. Feeding into the current docu-series craze, both shows will chronicle the lives of the young, hip, and fashionable.
First, the Eva Marcille Project will give a highly personal look into the life of the model, host, and sometimes actress most famous for her win on Americas Next Top Model.
Oxygen seems intent on capitalizing on ready made drama that Marcille can bring (if her stint on ANTM was any indication). Even after the less than stellar attempt by the network to promote Paris Hilton in her own reality show, The World According to Paris, the Network seems committed to endorsing reality T.V. divas.
Next on the line-up is LA Style, an on camera chronicle of the lives of four up and coming stylists based in LA. The series follows the quartet through the many trials that come with dressing some of Hollywood’s most notable names. One of LA Style’s headliners is former right hand woman to Rachel Zoe, Taylor Jacobson. Although the less than amicable split gathered its share of bad publicity, Jacobson has rebounded seemingly unscathed, landing her own show and quite a few of her own high profile clientele.
While both shows cater to a similar demographic, hopefully they’ll be able to offer up something unique to audiences starved for some semblance of originality. While the usual catty, cutthroat, semi-scripted, “reality” dramas have their appeal, they typically come with an expiration date.
Just ask Paris Hilton.
Both shows will air on the Oxygen in 2012.
