Vanessa Traina Unveils Maje Capsule Collection at Barneys

Fashion / March 24, 2011

Last night, Vanessa Traina, fashion “it” girl and daughter to author extraordinaire Danielle Steele, launched her Maje collection at Barneys in New York.

The 12-piece capsule collection, which pieces individually range from $150 to $490, will be sold exclusively at Barneys in the U.S.

Guests in attendance of last night’s launch included her sisters Samantha and Victoria Traina, and designers Alexander Wang, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, Joseph Altuzarra, and Proenza Schouler’s Jack McCollough.

The collection, which is comprised of almost all black, is abundant in lingerie-like pieces reminiscent of silhouettes from the 1990’s.

Traina says of the Maje capsule collection:

I really wanted to make pieces that could slip seamlessly into anyone’s wardrobe, so the idea was a seasonless collection, something that you’d want to buy now, but wear beyond spring.

That’s why it’s all in black.

My close friends who have seen the collection have told me that they really see me in the collection, which I take as a compliment. I really put a lot of myself into this collection.
