Zac Posen, who broke into the fashion scene in the early 2000s, has just unveiled his 2012 resort collection. The latest looks, filled with rich, light and dark colors, can best be described as classic silhouettes with new, innovative and creative detailing.
You can take, for instance, the white suit pant and long sleeved shirt with a light blue top. The shirt and pants are both crotchet, with slight beaded embellishments on the side of the top.
Posen also makes use of metallics and sparkle. A dark blue and silver blended jacket pops against a black long sleeved dress in one of the looks.
Most notably, the standout metallic piece is the gold dress – a classic silhouette with a plunging neckline and bold shoulders.
But it’s not all perfect. One dress in particular, which has strong elements of vintage design, looks dull, unfinished and stained compared to the rest of Posen’s polished looks.
Yet there’s infinitely more good than bad, as Posen’s evening gowns are dramatic and glamorous. The line detailing in the trains and theatrical use of tulle make the classic, old Hollywood profiles modern and exciting to look it.
