Adorable isn’t exactly a word one would use to describe punk rock. But when talking about the new documentary, The Other F Word, it’s the perfect description.
What exactly is this other F word? Father.
The Other F Word is directed by Andrea Blaugrund (best known for her 1995 TV series documentary, Intimate Portrait about the lives of famous women in all areas of entertainment, politics and more).
It features interviews and private peeks into the lives of over 20 famous punk rockers — including Flea (Red Hot Chili Peppers), Brett Gurewitz (Bad Religion), Greg Hetson (Circle Jerks), Mark Hoppus (Blink-182), Lars Frederiksen (Rancid), Ron Reyes (Black Flag), Tim McIlrath (Rise Against), and even pro-skater Tony Hawk, who’s saturated enough in punk culture that he perfectly suits the film.
Watch this rock doc if you want to see how being a parent has vastly changed the mindset of some of these famous musicians.
Punk rock, music dedicated to breaking the rules and shirking authority, might never be the same again, especially for these once youthful rockers turned dads.
The film is currently making the rounds to a number of film festivals, and will open in the D.C. area on December 2. Watch the trailer below:
