Can the Fanning sisters become the next Olsens? Like those famous twins, there’s just something about them that the fashion industry just can’t get enough of.
Although they’ve yet to hit adulthood, these two sisters have made their mark in both film and fashion.
At only 14 years old, Elle Fanning was chosen as the face of luxury fashion brand, Rodarte. In her film career, she has been nominated for a Critics Choice Award for her role in the film, Somewhere, as well as nominated for a Teen Choice Award for her role in the film, Super 8. Not only is Elle a talent to be reckoned with, but her sense of style has gained her a place on many “Best Dressed” lists.
Her oldest sister, Dakota, at 17 years of age, has an impressive film resume that started in 1988. Her breakout role in which she played the daughter of Sean Penn in the critically acclaimed film, I am Sam won the hearts of even the toughest critics.
Since then, she has been nominated for over 17 awards that includes the Screen Actor Guild Awards and Teen Choice Awards.
When Dakota was 12, she became the face of Marc Jacobs’s 2007 ad campaign and now represents the brand’s new Oh Lola perfume ads (which were recently banned in the UK for being too provocative).
It’s no surprise that W magazine feels the same way we do about the Fanning sisters. In their December 2011 issue, the fashion magazine interviews the sisters about their youth, growing up famous, and their place in fashion.
Accompanying the interview is a fashion editorial in which the sisters are photographed by Mario Sorrenti wearing Chanel, Valentino, Dior, and Rodarte.
