So Long Summer: What’s In My Labor Day Weekend Makeup Bag

There’s really no getting around it—summer has come to end. It feels like just yesterday we were kicking off the season, am I right?

No matter. I plan to enjoy this final weekend fully, and that means spending quality time in the sun with family and friends. It also means keeping my beauty routine simple, so I don’t waste precious beach or barbeque time prepping. Here’s what I’ll be stashing in my makeup bag this Labor Day.

NARS Foreplay Palette

Get your summer afterglow on with this must-have palette for Orgasm fans. It contains the classic cult shade, plus three complementary pink and peach hues, for a perfect end-of-summer flush.

L’Oréal Youth Code BB Cream Illuminator

I’ve found another awesome illuminator to add to my list of favorites. This one has SPF, so it will protect my skin from the still-strong sun while giving my face a subtle, sheer glow.

Stila Smudge Stick Waterproof Eyeliner in Empress

I love this pearly white liner from Stila. It instantly makes me look more awake, which is key after lazy snoozes on the sand. It also blends beautifully just above my brow bone and has a waterproof formula that’s great for the beach.

Ouidad Mediterranean Bay Leaf Exfoliating Hair & Scalp Treatment

After three months of constant sun and salt, my hair has had it. Loaded with nourishing botanicals, this treatment brings damaged tresses back to life by exfoliating follicles and increasing scalp circulation. Plus, it smells divine.

Shiseido Lacquer Rouge in Nymph

Shiseido’s new lip lacquer is a great summer-to-fall beauty bet. It goes on super smooth and delivers serious color with just one coat. I’ll be wearing this one well into autumn.

And in my beach bag…

How to Look Expensive

No summer weekend is complete without a good beach read. I’m looking forward to cracking open this newly released style bible, penned by veteran beauty editor Andrea Pomerantz Lustig.
