Look out Los Angeles, Olympic heartthrob Ryan Lochte is heading your way and he’s got designer dreams.
Lochte, of recent Olympic fame, who won 5 medals in London and has won a bevy of admirers with his cover boy good looks, is now making clear his ambitions that extend past the pool.
Lochte recently told reporters he hopes to move into fashion design and will be moving to Los Angeles with a friend to try Hollywood on for size. And he may just have enough fashion cred to get by, with the elite bragging rights of being one of only four men who have ever graced the cover of American Vogue (joining Richard Gere, George Clooney, and fellow athlete, Lebron James) in this summer’s Olympic issue.
Lochte’s out-of-Speedo style is hip hop meets surfer boy, and not so surprising, he’s also a sneaker collector. Lochte’s small ventures in design have been tees with his signature phrase, “Jeah” but he told Matt Lauer on the Today Show, “When swimming is all said and done, I want to get into fashion and design my own clothing line.”
Fashion design, Olympian, ghetto grillz, sounds like a reality show in the making.
