Three Ways to Wear Fall’s Perfect Knit

3 Ways / November 8, 2012

Sure, our fall must-have lists are packed with tons of on-trend items, but there are also some classic pieces that are essential to getting us through the season in style.

For example, a great pair of boots and a classic handbag bag  are items you should absolutely invest in, but rounding off this list should also be cozy knits in an array of colors and textures.

Comfy knits will become a closet staple as the temperature starts to dip, and we think A.P.C.’s ultra soft alpaca blend sweater will be getting  heavy rotation in our wardrobe this fall.  We love the slim silhouette  and the unexpected detailing of the pointelle seams.  The rich marigold  hue makes it perfect to mix and match with an array of looks this  season.  Looking chic and staying toasty this fall is possible! Here, we  show you the various ways this cozy knit can be styled.

Polished: Pair the A.P.C. sweater with a Firis navy pencil skirt for a  sleek work appropriate look.   We love J. Crew’s chunky Etta pumps — the  tweed adds a bit of texture to the outfit while keeping everything  pulled together.  ModCloth’s “Earn Your Wingtips” satchel adds a bit of a retro vibe and Fallon’s jeweled necklace is the perfect way to finish this feminine look.

Downtown: When you’re ready to hit the town and don’t want to sacrifice  warmth, why not pair A.P.C.’s sweater with Balenciaga’s leather and suede  leggings?

Pair Laurence Dacade’s studded ankle boots and Alexander Wang’s Diego bucket bag in a bright cherry for maximum downtown cool  appeal.  Complete this outfit with bold, tough jewelry to keep with the  overall edginess of this look.  We love Eddie Borgo’s and KD2024’s onyx  rings and Fallon’s gunmetal bow collar.

Tomboy:  For a casual take on how to wear this ultra versatile piece, we  love A.P.C.’s knit paired with Mother’s high waisted looker jeans.   Alexander Wang’s menswear inspired Smoking Blazer and Prada’s two-tone  oxfords are the perfect additions to this borrowed-from-the boys look.  We finished off this looks with a classic Cambridge Satchel bag and Orly Genger’s woven necklace for perfect minimalism.
