Lana Del Rey for H&M
It may be true that the fashion world heard the Lana Del Rey siren song louder than anyone else.
Signed as a Next model almost as soon as her “Born to Die” cover hit sunlight and gaining the attention of Mulberry, who designed a bag inspired by the songstress, del Rey is fashion’s girl du jour.
Now Del Rey is bringing all that hair and all those lips to mega fast-fashion retailer H&M.
With lyrics dramatic and compelling as her aesthetic, it’s no mystery she’s been embraced by the fashion community.
But del Rey’s gig as the face of H&M’s Fall 2012 campaign may garner her the most exposure yet, due to H&M’s proliferation worldwide.
More than modeling the collection, the photos—shot by Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin—makes it clear that H&M embraced del Rey’s signature style.
In fluffy knits, bright skintight slacks, and retro fur-lined collars, H&M styles del Rey in her luxury-cum-retro element.
The result? We quote LDR herself, “Fresh to death.”
