It’s been months of rumors and whispers in regard to John Galliano’s replacement at Dior, or possible return.

First, there were whispers about Marc Jacobs possibly stepping into Galliano’s shoes at Dior, and the fact that LV did a Marc Jacobs retrospective of sorts didn’t help the rumors.

Then were murmurs that Raf Simons might be replacing Galliano with his recent departure at Jil Sander. However, those rumors were promptly squashed and Simons fate was left undetermined.

But, in this industry of hush-hush, there may be more than what appears to be a rumor—such was the case of the mystery of the Royal wedding dress. Even Sarah Burton admitted that she lied directly to Anna Wintour about being selected as Middleton’s dress designer.

Now, it looks like the Raf Simon rumors have come to full circle.

The New York Times has just confirmed that Simons has been selected to replace Galliano as Creative Director of Dior, effective immediately.

The official announcement will happen this Wednesday, with Simon to debut his first Dior collection at the fall haute couture shows.
