Band of Outsiders continues to add its signature boyish charm to classic feminine separates in its vintage Bauhaus meets modern L.A. Boy. by Band of Outsiders Resort 2013 collection.
Inspired by a 1930s-styled house that designer Scott Sternberg recently purchased, this playful collection of separates contain geometric patterns and nautical-inspired stripes.
The bright yellow-striped skirt and dolman top are colorful basics in the collection. The other striped pieces include a red and blue blocked shirt, a dress that features a mashup of horizontal and slanted stripes, and a matching hoodie, which takes on a box formation.
The striped pieces are sweet and simple, and sticking with the nautical theme, there is a simple white sweater with a ship graphic and a high colored blue dress with a ship motif print. There are also multi-functional pieces, such as the leather-blocked skirts, tailored shirts and simple shorts.
The print pieces are the highlight pieces of the collection. The dark forest green vest with tropical inspired print on the sleeves is tropically urbane, while the black and blue apostrophe printed keyhole dress is punctually chic.
Last season, Band of Outsiders successfully experimented with jumpsuits, and this time around, the jumpsuits returns, but in a more casual, minimalistic approach.
The white jumpsuits are understated, effortless pieces that have minimal, yet notable details. The v-neck piece is cuffed at the ankle and wrists and imitates a wrap effect in the front, while the other piece is pleated at the waist.
Based on this collection, Sternberg’s house must be effortlessly put together and timeless.
Boy. by Band of Outsiders sticks to its effortless aesthetic, while at the same time bringing in prints that can be worn season after season.
