Andrej Pejic, everyone’s favorite gender-bending supermodel may have decided to step in front of a different type of camera.

Yes, it seems Pejic has been bitten by the acting bug.

Frockwriter has reported that Pejic is currently in consideration for the lead in a French film, an adaptation of Honore de Balzac’s novel “Seraphita.”

Perfectly suited for Pejic’s likeness, the classic novel tells the tale of an androgynous youth that lives a double-life as both female (Seraphita) and male (Seraphitus).

The title character has several romantic encounters with men who believe him to be a woman and women who believe her to be a man.

The film, already adapted for the stage, will be directed by Florence Dwarvin, who had this to say about the gender-elusive fashionisto, “He’s a phenomenon, that’s for sure – and he’s unique, there is only one.”

And we agree.

Pejic has brought something revolutionary to the runways, and now may be just the time to spread his controversial sex (or lack thereof) appeal to the silver screen.

This complicated story of love and gender seems well-suited to Pejic’s nonconformist élan.

While his talent as an actor may still be questionable, there is no doubt that he is a hot commodity these days.

Pejic’s rep, Arnaud Vanbleus told Frockwriter, “Everyone wants to have him. But the thing usually is, they either don’t have the budget or we’re not interested in the project.”

It must be nice to be ever-so-wanted.
