Set atop a roving train, “The Darjeeling Limited” tells the story of three brothers on a quest for spiritual enlightenment. Much of the film is set against the stark desert in India, and director Wes Anderson makes it a visual feast by adding bold elements, many of which are signatures of his work.
Marigold hues and shades of cerulean add a rich stylistic quality to the film. The bold colors and patterns of Rajasthani traditional clothing prove to be the perfect compliment to Anderson’s film.
We’ve put together an outfit reminiscent of the beautiful colors found in the film which will also make a seamless transition into your Fall wardrobe.

We love Sonia by Sonia Rykiel’s marigold print blouse paired with bright Diane von Furstenberg silk trousers. From the color of the titular train in the Darjeeling Limited to the colorful cast of characters, rich yellow and lapis hues are always present throughout the film.
Tobacco brown is the perfect neutral for the colorful palette in the film and is present in everything from the Whitman brother’s monogram luggage to the barren desert. \
Woven Max Studio sandals and a Big Buddha crossbody are the perfect muted accessories for our bright separates. Beautiful jewels complete this look that will surely transport you to a place as mystifying as India.
