Safari style inspired S/S 2012 collections for many designers, but particularly Michael Kors. Traditional animal prints took on new variations, whilst blending neutral shades of khaki, olive and brown with rich textures and earthy prints to create sarongs, kaftans and modern silhouettes.
A number of other designers ventured into the terrain, such as Sass & Bide, Alberta Ferretti, Giambattista Valli, Roberto Cavalli, Gucci and Peter Som, who all created a fresh twist on the trend with exotic zebra prints and new takes on pieces like the classic shirtdress.
Try translating the runway trend into your wardrobe by infusing wild prints or colors and by adding simple embellishments in wood, resin or precious metals.
