Be Boho-Cool In Winter: How to Make the Maxi Dress Seasonally Appropriate

Style / November 16, 2012

If you thought the flowy, ultra-feminine maxi dress was just for breezy summers on the beach, think again.

This winter, go for long dress hems to perfect your daytime look.

The maxi-dress strikes the right grunge/glamour balance and keeps those legs warm. With all those extra perks (besides being gloriously fashionable), what’s not to love?

Designers like Libertine, Altuzarra and Skaist-Taylor channeled the late 1960s with this fall/winter’s luxurious and chic bohemian-print dresses, showing them paired with tailored boxy jackets and petite leather biker outerwear.

Choose luxe fabrics like silk, chiffon or velvet for a wintery feel and wear the frocks on their own, or, if you choose, you can wear under a fitted jacket or your fave cosy cardi.

Accessorize with warm chunky boots, and lots of bold jewelry. You could also take a jersey maxi and throw on a faux-fur or trophy jacket for an uber effortless but glam look.

Check out our boho look for seasonal inspiration.
