Three Joseph Altuzarra and J. Crew Looks to Try Before Their Capsule Collection Debuts (3)

CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund winner Joseph Altuzarra is the latest designer to collaborate with mammoth retailer J. Crew with a collection slated to hit stores this spring.

In November, the young New York-based Altuzarra received $300,000, an amount which is granted annually by the CFDA to the best emerging talent in fashion design.

Altuzarra recently confirmed the collaboration with J. Crew but remained mum on details.

While we wait not-so-patiently for the collection to hit stores, we have dreamed up a few looks incorporating both J. Crew’s and Altuzarra’s latest spring confections.

Altuzarra is known for combining luxe and streetwear inspired pieces, so we can only imagine what he has up his sleeve for one the most classic brands around.

Leopard and Ladylike
Altuzarra’s recent collections have made references to the 70’s, so in the spirit of those times, we’ve paired  these silk J. Crew trousers  with one of Altuzarra’s cotton eyelet tops. This outfit makes for a polished and dreamy look.

In the Streets
Altuzarra’s Spring 2012 RTW collection included a lot of high street pieces, and to add a bit of edgy, street-worthy shimmer into this look, we paired his chameleon jacket with J. Crew’s silver penny loafers, a shoe choice which adds an unexpected element to otherwise basic separates.

Tropical Vacation
Some of the biggest trends this spring were brights and colorful prints,  and both Altuzarra and J. Crew have done an excellent job of incorporating these into their latest collections. We’re infatuated with Altuzarra’s Hawaiian print jacket, and paired with J. Crew’s mustard silk-blend pants, they make the perfect springtime statement.  Bright pointed-toe pumps and a classic J. Crew hobo add the requisite streamlined touches.
