Weave Your Way to Spring with Our Most-Wanted Woven Picks

Left to right: Mark Fast S/S 12, Herve Leger for
Max Azria S/S 12, Isabel Marant S/S 12

Weaving or ‘haute handicraft’, as it has been beautifully coined by Vogue, is having a revival for Spring/Summer.

The new movement is weaving its way into bags, dresses and shoes in a huge way.

Like in past seasons, lace, crochet, macramé, broderie anglaise (as seen in Louis Vuitton’s  S/S 2012 collection) and loose weave garments were spotted in more than several shows on the spring/summer runways.

This season, the criss-cross fabrics are back with a bolder and brighter take, replete with experimental pieces and unexpected fabrics, such as cord, plastic and rope, all of which have been included in a few designers’ collections.

We especially loves the new woven pieces that were spotted on the runways of Burberry Prorsum, Herve Leger for Max Azria, Isabel Marant and Mark Fast.

Below, take a peek at our most-wanted items from the new woven trend.
