The Oxford shirt, a style staple usually associated with English, polo- playing, preppy fellows has been transformed for S/S 12.

Bejeweled, lacy and printed collars were spotted on the runways of No.21, Elie Tahari and Jason Wu. Think Bette Davis, circa 1950.

Collar Comeback: A New Twist on the Classic OxfordKourtney Kardashian was spotted wearing a lovely collared dress, and Sky Ferreira was also seen wearing a sparkly sequined pointy collar (which we love, too).

Teamed with a skirt, shorts or chic trousers, an eye-catching collar—which is appropriate for both the office and nights out—instantly adds classic polish to any outfit.

This spring, say goodbye to popping  your collar, and instead wear the oxford collar buttoned up and folded down. For a bolder look, try wearing with a statement necklace draped over as seen on No.21’s S/S 12 runway.

There are also fantastic collar accessories in the stores at the moment for those that don’t want to embrace the oxford shirt look.  These neat (and affordable) accessory collars will instantly update your favorite shift dress or top.

Check out our top fold-over picks that will help make you look plenty collarful for spring.
