October 2013 marks the twenty-sixth anniversary of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, which is certainly something to celebrate.
For more than two-and-a-half decades, beauty and fashion brands have been creating special, limited-edition lines and products to benefit cancer-focused charities. And even though there are plenty of BCA round ups to be found on the web, this year, we’re concentrating on our favorite pink ribbon product: Estée Lauder’s Pink Ribbon Pleasures Solid Perfume Metal Compact.
It’s special for a number of reasons, starting, of course, with the compact’s exquisite, colorful design, as well the perfume’s floral scent, which contains notes of white lilies, white peonies, jasmine and baie rose.
We also love that two tiny touches of blue have been added to the palette’s pattern, in an effort to acknowledge the 1% of men who are also affected by this disease.
And finally, the most impressive fact is that 100% of the proceeds from each compact’s sale will be donated to The Breast Cancer Research Foundation until June 2014.
So go shop and do good this October. Also, don’t forget to feel your boobies on the regs. With roughly 232,340 new cases of invasive breast cancer projected for this year alone, you can’t afford not to.
