In an effort to promote Selfridges’ new fourth floor toy department, Mattel commissioned three emerging designers to each create and design 5 outfits for America’s most loveable and sometimes controversial plastic princess, Barbie.

Designer Sister by Sibling designed four all-knitwear looks that consisted of mostly skirts and dresses, while Fred Butler revealed avant garde-leaning looks with architectural, origami-like sculptures.

Taking a cue from ‘90s hip-hop, Nasir Mazhar dressed Barbie in color-blocked athletic street wear consisting of matching sweat suits that we could easily see ‘90s duo Kid ‘n’ Play wearing.

Barbie collectors and fans can purchase the one-off dolls, which will each retail for approximately $182  at Selfridges.
