A Milan court has found fashion design duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana guilty for tax evasion, and as a result, the pair have been sentenced to serve one year and eight months in jail.

In 2007, the designers were accused of evading taxes for over $1.3 billion in royalties and income between 2004 to 2006, when they sold their company to Gado Srl. And although the tax evasion case was originally thrown out some years ago, the Italian Supreme Court overturned that decision and ruled that Dolce and Gabbana could in fact be tried and prosecuted.
