Five Under $50 Broderie Anglaise For Summertime

There are some fabrics—like linens and chiffons—that work well for summer.  But then there are those delicate, feminine fabrics—using techniques such as broderie anglaise—that are synonymous with summer.

Known also as eyelet lace, broderie anglaise—which dates back to the 16th century—is a needlework technique that incorporates cutting small eyelets into fabric and then embroidering around them, resulting in a beautiful, intricate design.

Not only will this fabric keep you cool during the hot months, but it will also keep you on trend, as designer Simone Rocha successfully demonstrated on her spring 2013 runways.

To get a head start on summer, check these beautiful broderie anglaise faves, which we’re currently lusting over.
