Fall’s Purple Haze

Style / October 18, 2013

In the ancient world, purple was the color of regal robes and papal vestments worn by Emperors and magistrates. Since that time, purple has been commonly associated with luxury, passion, dazzling gems and flamboyant style.

Each season a color has its own renaissance, and this fall, the reigning color is purple.

Carolina Herrera,  Balmain, Rag & Bone and Ruffian all revealed glorious shades of  purple  with chic, sleek, sophisticated and sexy looks gracing the runways.

If you’ve never really warmed up to purple, we hope to persuade you with our picks below.  The red and blue mixed color can easily be paired with reds and oranges — which looks particularly striking — or with greens if you’re feeling  adventurous.

A shade of purple exists for almost every skin tone.  So go ahead, give it a go.  How could you possibly go wrong with such a sumptuous color?
