Some of the best bands are made in Brooklyn, NY.  And, as such, it should come as no surprise that one of our favorite indie rock bands, Parquet Courts, got its start in the New York City borough.

Consisting of brothers Andrew Savage (lead vocals, guitar) and Max Savage (drums), as well as Austin Brown (guitar) and Sean Yeaton (bass), the band formed in 2010 and gained a loyal following ever since the debut of their 4-song semi-album, “American Specialties,” which was released exclusively on cassette tape. Since then, the band has released their “Light Up Gold” LP, which has received critical acclaim.

And since we’re such big fans of the band, we made certain that we were there when Parquet Courts stopped in DC to perform at the Black Cat.  Below, check out our best photos from the show.  Photos by Courtney B. Roberson for Meets Obsession magazine
