Kelly Ogden of The Dollyrots might well be the last true bastion of female punk.
Bassist and lead singer for a band that’s been around more than a decade and earned a sturdy fanbase for their tight, catchy, modern twist of the genre, Kelly and the group self-released an album from nothing but a Kickstarter page. She’s an icon of the underground scene with supporting slots with Joan Jett and Paramore to prove it. Five albums in, she shows no signs of relenting.

Album you’re jamming to at the moment?
– “Skating Polly from Oklahoma. I heard them six or seven years ago and for being so young they seemed hungry.”

What inspired your cover of Ramones “I Wanna Be Sedated” on your latest album?
– We do it live. We want to show people where we came from. We grew up playing it. Part of being in a band is getting people to listen to what the band likes.”
