Best Dressed: New York Fashion Week, Week #1

Week one of Fashion Week is well underway in New York City as the top fashion designers present their Spring 2015 collections. The front rows of NYFW are notorious for being star-studded, with the biggest celebrities coming out to show their support for the biggest designers.

Fashion week becomes the best of both worlds as the models wear the new looks on the runway while the stars wear the hottest looks in the front row. With still one week left, we expect to see many more standout fashion moments.  Here are the celeb looks we love from NYFW's  first week.

Shay Mitchell In Menswear

Shay Mitchell in Menswear

Shay Mitchell knows how to master the art of wearing menswear. Wearing an over sized vest and a light, white shirt dress, the Canadian actress attended the BCBG Maxazria show in a look that had both feminine and masculine touches, making a stylishly smart statement.

Rihanna In Adam Selman And Christian Louboutin

Rihanna in Adam Selman and Christian Louboutin

Who says you can't wear white after Labor Day? Rihanna sure proved her critics wrong as she attended the Adam Selman Spring 2015 presentation in head-to-toe white. Wearing a baby-doll white Adam Selman dress with ruffle trim, Rihanna proved she runs this town. The innocent look is finished off with a draped pearl necklace, Jennifer Fisher rings, and tied Christian Louboutin pumps. Rihanna looked like a vision in white and we started to daydream about her potential walk down the aisle one day. If this is what she looks like now, just imagine how good a wedding dress look on her. Just a thought...

Sophia Bush In Monique Lhuillier

Sophia Bush in Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhuillier's Spring 2015 presentation was a who's who of pop culture. Present amongst the celebrities was actress Sophia Bush. The "One Tree Hill" alum and current star of "Chicago P.D." looked flawless in a black high neck dress with cap sleeves and sheer embroidered top layer from the designer's Fall/Winter 2014 collection. The look was completed with a white box clutch and aqua pumps, proving that Sophia Bush deserved a spot in the front row. Tres chic!

Olivia Palermo In Aquazzura

Olivia Palermo in Aquazzura and Roland Mouret

The Queen of New York style is at her prime strutting her stuff through the city streets this week during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Headed into the Desigual Spring 2015 collection presentation, Olivia Palermo wore a black and white circle print dress. Adding her signature style to the look, she added a white waistcoat, studded shades, lace up Aquazzura sandals and a gorgeous seafoam green Roland Mouret clutch. Simply sensational, but we expect nothing less from Olivia Palermo.

Best Dressed: 2014 Primetime Emmy Awards Edition

At Monday night’s Emmy Awards, the red carpet was quite different compared to Sunday’s Video Music Awards. Instead of a sea of black, short, body-hugging leather dresses, the ladies of television set the red carpet on fire, decked out in 50 shades of red. Strutting their stuff in full skirts and chic column dresses, these ladies turned the red carpet into their runway, demanding attention from all.

Lizzy Caplan In Donna Karen Atelier

Lizzy Caplan in Donna Karen Atelier

This “Masters of Sex” star has been delivering knockout after knockout on the red carpet lately. A far cry from her “Mean Girls” days, Lizzy Caplan stunned in a black and white Donna Karen Atelier gown. With a cutout back, an open black and a full skirt with white train, this dress was in a league of its own on the red carpet Monday night.

Gwen Stefani In Versace

Gwen Stefani in Versace

As one of the new judges for NBC’s hit show “The Voice,” Gwen Stefani was asked to present at the Emmys this year. She channeled Donatella herself as she walked the red carpet in a Versace top and skirt set, made of thousands upon thousands of tiny Swarovski crystals. With strong ancient Egyptian influence, Gwen mastered the easy look with pin straight hair and simple yet dramatic make-up.

Taylor Schilling In Zuhair Murad

Taylor Schilling in Zuhair Murad

The “Orange is the New Black” star might have gone home empty handed, but this girl has proved she fits right in on the red carpet. Taylor Schilling wore a cream halter Zuhair Murad dress Monday night. The cut and draped back flattered her perfectly, and the small train was subtle yet extremely elegant for this repeat nominee. And we all agree, she looks much better in this color as opposed to orange.

Claire Danes In Givenchy

Claire Danes in Givenchy

Claire Danes is never a surprise on any Best Dressed list. The star of “Homeland” has had success in both television and film -- and red carpets come with the job. Delivering yet another killer look, the actress wore red (the color of the night) Givenchy. The dress from a distance is not that spectacular, but the details are simply sensational. From the beaded neckline to the cut-outs and open pack to the studded belt, this red tulle gown was completely covered in a red lace. Quite simple this dress is a work of art. A soft bun and red lips completed the look, but the real star of the night was clearly her dress.

Sarah Hyland In Christian Siriano

Sarah Hyland in Christian Siriano

Keeping it extremely young and fresh, Sarah Hyland looked flawless on the red carpet. Sporting the latest summer trend, the “Modern Family” star wore a white crop top with a full orange skirt. Styled with perfect makeup and a sock bun, Miss Hyland fit right in with all the A-list celebrities. But with another win for "Modern Family," this girl is on her way to being a regular on the red carpet and best dressed lists.

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves In Dolce & Gabanna And Zuhair Murad

Best Dressed Couple, Again

Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves in Dolce & Gabanna and Zuhair Murad, respectively

We would be more surprised if these two didn’t look perfect on the red carpet. Although Matthew went home empty-handed for his role in "True Detective," his look was a winner. Never a fan of a simple tux, the navy blue Dolce & Gabanna complemented Camila's cream Zuhair Murad gown perfectly. Hopefully, he is nominated again this year during award season just so we can see the two of them on the red carpet more. This couple is more than alright, alright, alright.

Best Dressed: MTV's Video Music Awards Edition

The VMAs are infamous for having crazy fashion moments, and Sunday night was no exception.

A red carpet that consisted of more skin than clothing, the stars did not disappoint. While there was no meat dress this year, there was a throwback to 2001 and even an on-stage wardrobe malfunction (um, cue Nicki Minaj).

Nina Dobrev In Zuhair Murad

Nina Dobrev in Zuhair Murad

The “Vampire Diaries” and “Let’s Be Cops” star delivered a knockout on the red carpet Sunday night. Rocking a red and black Zuhair Murad gown, the actress looked edgy and sexy at the same time. Never one to disappoint when it comes to fashion, Miss Dobrev completed her look with a chic high ponytail, red lips, simple black sandals and a colorful clutch. Simply stunning, as usual.

Jamie Chung In Versace And Nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ Sandals

Jamie Chung in Versace and nude Stuart Weitzman ‘Nudist’ Sandals

While others chose red for the VMAs Red Carpet Sunday night, no one quite pulled it off like Miss Jamie Chung. Know for her chic style, this “Sin City” star showed every man that she was a dame worth killing for in a stunning red Versace mini. Rocking the hottest shoe of the season, Stuart Weitzman’s “Nudist” sandal in a simple nude, Jamie Chung let the dress speak for itself.

Taylor Swift In Mary Katrantzou

Taylor Swift in Mary Katrantzou

It wasn't red, or sparkly, or a crop-top. But a unitard? The Mary Katrantzou romper-unitard was a fresh change for Taylor Swift on the red carpet. Paired with Elie Saab booties, loose waves and her signature red lipstick, Miss Swift proved that she can “Shake it Off” with the best of them. One thing is for sure, Taylor has got the legs to pull off this look.

Apparently, Black is the new black. The most popular color on the red carpet last night was black, and each look was new and exciting.

Miley Cyrus In Alexandre Vauthier Couture

Miley Cyrus in Alexandre Vauthier Couture

Rocking a black leather crop-top and matching trousers, the “Wrecking Ball” singer took home the top prize last night for Video of the Year. Wearing Alexandre Vauthier Couture and silver sandals, Miley Cyrus looked tame compared to last years’ twerking incident.

Kendal & Kylie Jenner Kendall In Alon Livne

Kendall & Kylie Jenner - Kendall in Alon Livne

While Kim Kardashian wore an extremely ill-fitted plunging Balmain dress, she looked tiny and out of place as she stood next to her half-sisters. The Jenner girls, however, wore unique black looks that demanded attention. Kylie donned a silk black wrap dress with a high slit. Kendall chose a mesh top and bralette and black trousers. These two keep proving that they are on their way to surpassing their famous siblings.

Chanel Iman In Balmain

Chanel Iman in Balmain

The model killed it in a body-hugging Balmain dress that looked as though ropes had been wrapped around her body. Our only question is: isn’t Chanel Iman hot in this long sleeve, tight fitted dress?

BEST Throwback Katy Perry And Riff Raff

Katy Perry and Riff Raff

Katy Perry decided to hit the red carpet last night in a déjà vu, throwback look circa 2001. With Riff Raff as her date, both of them wore custom Versace denim outfits. Taking home an award for her song “Dark Horse feat. Juicy J”, Miss Perry was not afraid to make a statement Sunday night at the VMAs, clad in bedazzled denim.

Then and Now: 10 Most Dramatic Style Evolutions

New styles come and go with the seasons, but celebrities, if successful, stay around much longer than a single style.

Over the years, these actresses, singers, fashion designers and TV personalities have shown dramatic change in their fashion choices.

As their roles and responsibilities became more sophisticated, so did their attire, gracing many Best Dressed lists along the way.

These 10 women have transformed their styles from amateur to full blown siren as they conquer the challenging world of Hollywood and the extremely critical media. But let us take a look back at the beginning, when their style lacked the sophistication and bold choices we are so used to today. Style Evolutuion Jessica Alba 2014

Jessica Alba

In 2005, Jessica Alba burst onto the Hollywood scene starring in three major motion pictures in just one year. Among them was  "Sin City," which labeled Alba immediately as one of the hottest women in the industry. Her style at the time was very laid back, like her California girl roots. Jump ahead a few years, and Jessica Alba is now married with two children and is the founder of a successful all natural children’s line. But don’t worry, her sexiness has not gone away because she is a mom. This summer she reprises her role in "Sin City: A Dame to Kill For" and has significantly upgraded her wardrobe.

Sienna Miller Now

Sienna Miller

About ten years ago, there was this leggy blonde constantly glued to the hip of Jude Law. Well that girl is no longer just the “girlfriend of,” but an actress with some serious roles coming up. Starring in "Foxcatcher" and "American Sniper" (both have award season buzz already), Sienna Miller is making huge statements when it comes to the red carpet. Now a mom of a little girl, Sienna Miller has many good things coming for her, and her style just keeps getting better and better.

Zoe Saldana Then

Zoe Saldana Now

Zoe Saldana

Do you remember Britney Spears’ sidekick from "Crossroads"? The one who was also a pirate on Captain Jack Sparrow’s Black Pearl in "Pirate of the Caribbean"? She didn't make any lasting impressions on the red carpet at the time, but ever since she starred in "Avatar" and "Star Trek" in 2009 and had two phenomenal promotional tours, Zoe Saldana is a common name to find on any Best Dressed list. Rumored to be pregnant with twins, and having recently starred in the first "Guardians of the Galaxy" installment, there are many more movies down the line for Ms. Saldana. With that, we hope many more unforgettable fashion moments will be in Zoe Saldana's future.

Nicole Richie

Back in 2003, Paris Hilton and her best friend at the time, Nicole Richie, debuted a show on FOX called "The Simple Life."  Although Paris was the undisputed star at the time, within recent years, Nicole Richie has stepped into her own spotlight. After launching her own House of Harlow 1960 jewelry line in 2008 and slowly expanding to having multiple successful clothing lines, Nicole Richie has turned into a fashion star in her own right. The married mother of two knows how to pull off a risk on the red carpet, and clearly she has out-shined her “simple life.”

Giuliana Rancic has been the go-to source for entertainment news since she took the co-anchor position at E! Network in 2005. Since then, she has had personal triumphs and tragedies. She beat breast cancer and got married, and looked fashionable through it all. The co-host of E! Network’s "Fashion Police" is on every red carpet getting the scoop on celebrities’ looks, while looking fabulous herself. One thing is clear, Giuliana Rancic knows how to dress the part.

Victoria Beckham

Back in the early 2000s, Posh Spice was a pop star and WAG (Wives and Girlfriends) of soccer super star David Beckham. Her style at the time was consumed by high slits, short skirts and low cut tops. But in September of 2008, Victoria Beckham launched her fashion line. Posh Spice put all her knowledge into a killer line that gained critical success over the years and continues to expand. Known for her structured looks and super high heals, Victoria Beckham has turned her style from semi-trashy to sophisticated elegance and we Wannabe just like her.

Miley Cryus Then

Miley Cyrus NOW

Miley Cyrus

With a cookie-cutter image in the last few years, Miley Cyrus, the girl that graced TV screens for the first time as Hannah Montana in 2006, has finally broken out of her shell. Going from country western style to an anything-and-everything style, Cyrus has certainly made her mark on society and fashion in the past few years. Her tongue is now her number one accessory, and she is not afraid of any piece of clothing. Clearly she can’t be tamed!

Emma Stone THEN

Emma Stone

In 2007, there was this movie called "Superbad"  that no could stop talking about.  While Michael Cera and Jonah Hill were the stars of this film, there was another star that made her debut in that movie. Emma Stone officially stepped onto the scene in "Superbad," but her real coming out party was in 2010 when "Easy A" hit theaters. Her style kicked off in full swing in 2011 when "The Help" gained award season recognition. Now a damsel in distress in the Spiderman reboot, her style is unparalleled, just like her fiery red hair and witty charm.

Jennifer Lawrence NOW

Jennifer Lawrence

Hollywood’s darling right now is a blonde bombshell with a dry comedic wit that had her first big break with her Oscar nominated performance in "Winter’s Bone." Shortly after her first twirl around award season, Lawrence landed a role in the "X:Men" series reboot and the starring role in the movie adaption of "The Hunger Games." This young woman was now expected to carry two movie franchises on her shoulders, which called for an upgrade her style. Insert Rachel Zoe and the adaption of Dior as Jennifer Lawrence’s middle name. Goodbye Kentucky darling, hello red carpet pro. With two more "Hunger Game"s movies yet to be released, we expect much more from her. This girl is on fire!

The show on E! Network might be "Keeping up with the Kardashians," but the Jenner girls have been making a name for themselves in recent years. While Kendall has been tearing up the catwalks, Kylie has quietly turned into a fashion superstar on the red carpet. Transforming from a nicely dressed typical California teen into style superstar, this Jenner is making sure that people recognize her. Hosting the 2014 Much Music Video Awards and debuting her acting skills for the first time in the preshow video, Kylie Jenner is ready to conquer the world, one pair of pumps at a time. Move over Kardashians, this girl is here to stay.

Best Dressed: Teen Choice Awards

Apparently, the beach is not the only place to show off your tanned and toned stomach this summer. On Sunday night, the stars took to the Blue Carpet at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards, and the go-to trend of the summer was extremely popular. Two words: crop top!

While rocking a crop top was a very popular fashion statement at the award show, each celebrity put their own spin on the trend.

Nina Dobrev In Vionnet

Nina Dobrev in Vionnet

The "Vampire Diaries" star has been a red carpet pro this summer promoting her new film,  "Let's Be Cops," and on the blue carpet Sunday night, she was not a disappointment.

Decked out in a two-piece Vionnet set, fashioned in a blue, pink and gold watercolor design, Nina's look was a beautiful pop of color Sunday night.

Teamed with Kurt Geiger "Bond" pumps in a matching shade of pink and a gold MICHAEL Michael Kors "Elsie" clutch, Miss Dobrev looked effortlessly chic with a messy side-swept braid and simple makeup.  Oh, so pretty in pink.

Taylor Swift In Novis

Taylor Swift in Novis

Taylor Swift has been a huge fan of crop tops while hitting the streets of New York this summer, but on Sunday night, Taylor took to the blue carpet in LA in a green melon matching set. The star of the upcoming film, "The Giver," Taylor wore a green and black tweed ensemble teamed  with a chic crop top and full A-line skirt.

Accessorized with simple gold hoops and Charlotte Olympia "Admiral" knotted sandals, her look was completed with flawless makeup and loose waves.  We're green with style envy,  Miss Swift!

Best Midtown Modern with Downtown Edge: Ashley Benson in Head-to-Toe H&M

Take note ladies, this is how you show off your brassiere while still being tasteful. With Jamie Chung showing us the perfect downtown chic look last week, Ashley Benson made a more uptown appearance, showing us the ultimate New York Midtown modern look.

Dressed like a typical New York style maven in all black, Ashley Benson wore head-to-toe  H&M for the retailer's Flagship Fifth Avenue Store Launch Event on July 15th.

Combing the edge of downtown with the elegance of uptown, Benson wore a tailored blazer, a sheer lace top and skinny jeans.

Completed with a gorgeous Lorraine Schwartz diamond necklace and carrying the Jeff Koons bag from the new H&M collaboration, the "Pretty Little Liars" star proved that even California girls can fit in on a New York red carpet.

Best Master of Color Blocking: Lizzy Caplan in Roksanda Ilincic

Lizzy Caplan is kicking off the new season of her hit Showtime show with style. The "Masters of Sex" star proves she is a master in color blocking at the Summer TCA Press Tour event.

Lizzy nails the art of color popping in her vibrant look comprised of a black and cream long sleeve monochrome top paired with a color blocked white and hot pink silk maxi skirt by Roksanda Ilincic.

The to-die-for electric blue satin Brian Atwood "Besame" pumps added an additional layer to the already perfect look.

Finished off with simple makeup and loose wavy hair, Lizzy  let the outfit speak for itself, and it practically screamed, "I am the Master."

Best Pastel Pairing: Lily Collins in Houghton

Look out ladies, seems like no outfit is complete this summer without a killer lip color.

Lily Collins delivers with a neon watermelon shade, a fresh pop of color to accompany her pastel look.

Showing us how to mix lovely, understated pastels, the "Love, Rosie" star looks cool and fresh in a  draped off-white sleeveless top and sea-foam green Houghton maxi skirt. Styled with a stone gray python motorcycle jacket to add some much needed edge to the ladylike skirt, Collins completed her look with a white clutch and simple blue-gray suede pumps.

While we love her mix-and-match neutral palette, it is the colorful lip and full skirt that makes us green with envy.

Best On-Duty Model Look: Kendall Jenner in Fall Balmain

After successfully completing her first walk on a couture runway, Kendall Jenner headed out to celebrate with half-sister Kim Kardashian.

Attending the Vogue Foundation Gala held at the Palais Galliera on July 9th, Kendall looked lovely in a luxe army green and black Balmain dress.

Kendall and Kim, who both stormed the event wearing some of the label's Fall 2014 looks, were part of the "Balmain troop."

Teamed with cage black and gold booties and a sleek ponytail, Kendall looked every bit the part for the Vogue event.

Move over, Kim.  Kendall is officially killing it in the style game.

Best Borrowing from the Boys Look: Olivia Palermo in Christian Dior

Olivia Palermo, fashion "it" girl and newlywed, showed off her 'Honeymoon' glow as she made several appearances at Paris Fashion Week.

While all her other looks were perfection in only a way that Olivia could pull off, this black and white Dior look was by far our favorite.

Dressed from top to bottom in Dior, Olivia looked effortlessly chic in a tailored tuxedo vest and skirt combo, teamed with a colorful blouse.

Her accessories paired perfectly with the look without being over the top, but the best aspect of her look was her pop-of-color coral lip.

Move aside Hollywood starlets, we think you should take lessons from this girl on how to dress.

Best Dressed: Jamie Chung in Three Floor and Stuart Weitzman

Jamie Chung revealed her extremely toned body in a cut-out, criss-crossed strapped Three Floor dress. With leather trim and zipper details, this dress did not need any accessories to enhance it. Rocking simple black Stuart Weitzman "nudist" pumps and  a half up-do, Jamie looked like the epitome of downtown chic.

Completing her look with cat-eye makeup and a nude lip, she fit right in at the launch of Birchbox's flagship store. We bet Jamie was the envy of every girl there. Très chic, Jamie Chung!

Best Dressed: Emma Watson Rocks Broderie Anglaise Valentino Separates

Best Queen of Couture

Emma Watson was the Queen of Couture in Paris, France last week. The "Harry Potter" star made several front row appearances, looking on point every time. But our favorite look was her most daring.

Rocking a leather jacket with Valentino black broderie anglaise separates, the look was completely modern, sleek and edgy from head-to-toe.

An easy up-do, a solo Delfina Delettrez pearl-ended earring, and a barely-there make up look kept the cameras' attention on Miss Watson's face all show long.

Her look was finished with a miniature black M2Malletier clutch with olive accents and pointed red pumps.

Is it just us, or does it seem like Emma Watson gets more daring with age?  We couldn't be more excited to see what she does next. Your style is simply magical,  Hermione Granger!

Best Dressed: Jameela Jamil Scores a Vintage-Inspired Win at Wimbledon

While it may be pushing 90 degrees in DC, across the pond the temperature isn't quite so warm, and this adds an extra component to any outfit: JACKETS!

Stepping out at this year’s Wimbledon Championships, Jameela Jamil, British TV and Radio host (known for criticizing Miley Cyrus via Twitter and then receiving death threats), wore a simple LBD. But it is not the dress that puts her on this week's list, but rather the accessories she chose to accompany the dress.

From the white sunglasses to the neon bag to the snakeskin pointed pumps, the look is sheer perfection from head to toe. Not to mention the effortlessly chic cream and black window-pane jacket casually draped on her shoulders.

While Wimbledon calls for a certain level of sophistication and elegance not seen at other sporting events, this look is both playfully vintage while still being conservative enough for Wimbledon.

Game, Set, Match! Jamella Jamil for the win!

Best Dressed: Nicola Peltz Lovely in Lacy Dolce & Gabbana and Stella McCartney

How many people can pull off an ivory cutout bodysuit with a lace skirt? Apparently the 19 year-old star of the latest Transformers movie can.

Newcomer Nicola Peltz is having an amazing promotional tour for this movie, even if the reviews are not stellar. After making our Best Dressed list two weeks ago in Prada at the World Premiere, it's no surprise that her latest outfit has put her on our list once again.

This time, the young blonde wore Stella McCartney coupled with Dolce & Gabbana at the Berlin press conference. Capturing the perfect “summer white” look, Nicola Peltz delivers with this stunning outfit.

While promoting "Transformers: Age of Extinction," Peltz favored a neutral palette, and although she did not take many risks, every one of her looks has been gorgeous.

Hopefully, with more Red Carpet experience, Nicola Peltz will try some more daring trends. But for now, we are more than happy to stare at this fashion pairing.

Bravo, Nicola Peltz. We look forward to your encore.

Best Dressed: Kelly Osbourne in Alice + Olivia Graphic Prints

What's the latest skirt trend to hit the runways? It is not the mini, or the maxi, but rather the midi.

Kelly Osbourne rocked this look while visiting SiriusXM studios in New York on July 1st. The "Fashion Police" host and fashionista looked effortlessly chic in a simple black top and multi-colored Alice + Olivia midi skirt.

This is the one of the latest trends taking over Hollywood, and as the hemlines grow longer, the more stunning the outfits become.

This outfit, a slight throwback to the style of Jackie O and Grace Kelly, is modernized with an electric, abstract graphic print and simple blue sandals.

Add Kelly’s lavender hair, beautifully coiffed, and this look is simply killer. Its fun and fabulous and the perfect attire for any event this summer. Kelly Osbourne nailed it.

We're totally mad for midis!
