Julia Roberts, From Pretty Woman to Givenchy Model

Oh hello there, pretty woman.

That’s what we’ll certainly be saying when Givenchy launches their spring 2015 ad campaign.

Casting actress Julia Roberts as the brand’s new face for spring, Givenchy is joining other companies that are passing on the still-in-puberty, 16-year-old models that fashion tends to be fond of and, instead, opting for timeless, elegant women who are over the age of 50.

This year, we’ve seen Helen Mirren cast as the face of L'Oreal Paris, Charlotte Rampling as the stunning, 69-year-old model for Nars, and now rom-com favorite Julie Roberts for Riccardo Tisci's Givenchy.

Shot by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, the black and white photos reveal a more serious and masculine side of  Roberts.

We’re proud that fashion finally gets that women often become more beautiful and relevant with age.

Now, if only Hollywood could follow suit.

A Philip Treacy x MAC Cosmetics Collaboration is Coming in 2015

With a long career that has spanned many decades, an impressive client list that includes Lady Gaga, Madonna, and Victoria Beckham, London’s favorite milliner, Philip Treacy, is taking a leap into beauty with an upcoming MAC Cosmetics collaboration.

Having designed pieces for Kate and Pippa Middleton, as well as other members of the royal family, Treacy is perhaps one of the most prominent hat designers in the industry.

Treacy’s millinery designs are all about feminine, dramatic flair, however, the upcoming collection will be based less on the silhouettes of his headgear and more on the color palettes of his past.

Launching in April of 2015, the “slightly gothic” collection will include lipsticks, highlight powders, Pro Longwear Paint Pots, eyeliners and mascara.

Madonna is the New Face of Versace’s Spring 2015 Campaign

Showing that she’s still magical, Madonna strikes a pose for Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott in a collection of black-and-white images that capture the spirit and strength of the Versace collection.

Madonna Is The New Face For Versace’s Spring 2015 CampaignThe 56-year-old icon, wearing a black laser cut dress paired with a laser cut bag, as well a black and silver sparkling zig zag emblazoned top befit for any glam rocker, offers a playful and provocative glimpse of the upcoming Versace collection.

This is not Madonna’s first time at the Versace rodeo.  She’s been the face of the brand three other times since 1995.

Kate Bosworth Designing Shoes for Festival-Inspired Collection

Kat Bosworth

If you’ve been following Obsessed, you’ll know we’ve been attentive to Kate Bosworth’s effortless California style for some time now. So much that we even gave our readers an in-depth breakdown on her sartorial signature.

When it come to the actor’s style, music festival season is the time during the year when we’re constantly asking ourselves, “We wonder what Kate is wearing.”  Really, no one can do festival style better than Kate, which is why her newest venture seems like the collab she was born to do.

Partnering with shoe brand Mattisse Footwear, Bosworth is launching a collection of 10 shoes styles, which will consist of boots and sandals.  Inspired by the festival season, the collection will launch just in time for Coachella, and each pair will retail from $295 to $505.

“My intention for the collaboration was to create directional designs that are wearable… This is the type of footwear I respect and appreciate in my own wardrobe — designs that are thoughtful, exciting and mindful of everyday wear,"  Bosworth said in a statement to  WWD in explaining her approach to designing the collection.

And excited we are, Kate.  Count us in for kicking up our style for festival season in your rad hot shot boots.

You Could Be MAC Cosmetics' New Face For Their M·A·Cnificent Me Collection

Finally, all those super-cute selfies you took earlier this year may come to good use. That is, if you're interested in modeling for MAC Cosmetics.

Opting out of their usual model and celebrity-fronted ads, the creative team behind their new M·A·Cnificent Me campaign is looking for a new face to represent the cosmetics brand for Fall 2015.

Are you unique? Down to earth? Eccentric? Strange? What makes you special? What makes you tick? MAC wants to know and they're dying for you to tell them.

If you think you're MACnificent, don't keep it to yourself. Tell it to the world.

To enter, simple type up a headline defining Y-O-U. You have 140 characters to describe what makes you uniquely you. Slap it on a selfie and submit it on the M·A·Cnificent Me website. When you're done,  you can share away via social media. It won't necessarily help you win, but it doesn't hurt you any either.

And speaking of winning, six lucky winner will find themselves bound for NYC where they will receive a makeover and participate in a MAC photo shoot.

You could be chosen as the face of the new MACnificent Me campaign.

Not too shabby for a selfie. Right?

Val Kilmer's Son, Alongside Pierce Brosnan's Son, Tapped as the Face of Saint Laurent

It looks like another Hollywood kid is gaining the attention of the fashion world. Enter Jack Kilmer, Val Kilmer and actress Joanne Whalley's son,  who has just been tapped by Hedi Slimane as the new face of Saint Laurent's permanent men's collection.

For those of you who may not remember Val Kilmer, he is known for his role as "Ice Man" in  the film "Top Gun." He also played the iconic Jim Morrison in a biopic and he had a brief stint as Batman in "Batman Forever."

Following his dad's acting footsteps, Jack Kilmer starred in the Gia Coppola-directed film "Palo Alto," which was based on James Franco's book. In addition to his newfound modeling career, Jack will be featured in two films:  "Len And Company" and "Baby Superfecta."

But the Saint Laurent buck doesn't stop with Jack. Pierce Brosnan's son,  Dylan Brosnan, has also been shot for the Saint Laurent men's permanent collection.

The high cheek-boned 17-year-old can be seen in black and white campaign photos wearing slim-fitting jeans paired with a cardigan and looking like a younger version of his father.

It's hard for most Hollywood kids to be taken seriously when they are constantly compared to their parents-- especially when you have parents who were once Batman and James Bond. But with looks and talent like Jack and Dylan, we're betting on these two.

Thanksgiving Dressings: 4 Outfits You Can Wear During a Lazy and Hazy T-Day

At last, Thanksgiving it almost here. For some of you, that means going to a fancy dinner where you’ll get all dressed up in your Sunday’s best. You’ll probably spend the evening having polite small talk with strangers while eating small, ladylike bites from your host’s vintage china.

Meh.

For us, it’s all about the food, shameless eating, family time,  haze-inducing Tryptophan, and giving thanks, of course.

On Thanksgiving, we’ll sleep in late and we’ll most likely spend the day in our sweatpants while performing multiple cycles of eating mass quantities of food, sleeping, drinking and watching TV.

Yep. Thanksgiving is pretty much our ultimate lazy Sunday, and we'll be grateful for things like elastic waistbands, remote controls and the fact that our stomachs are pretty resilient after eating a feast fit for three kings.

Through it all, one thing we aim for is comfort.  Which is why, during Turkey day, you’ll find us wearing our most feeding-friendly (translation: stretchy) comfy clothes.

If you plan to spend your Thanksgiving stuffed and in a lazy and hazy state of mind, we've put together 4 Thanksgiving outfits that will ensure your ultimate comfort but still stylish enough to look like you didn't just roll out of bed.

Five Under Fifty: Consciously-Cool Moto Jackets

Remember when wearing fake leather was deemed a fashion don’t?

But just like many rules of yesterday's past,  those days of frowning upon faux leather products are definitely over-- at least when it comes to fashion.

Besides being better for the environment, not to mention the horrible practices of animal abuse in leather production, vegan products are becoming more common in the fashion industry.

These days, the quality of vegan products are so high that often it’s difficult to tell when something is real leather or if it’s imitation.

But be careful. Not all vegan leather is equal. Some leather alternatives look cheap and poorly produced, and just like fabrics, you should pay attention to the texture and finish.

This winter, we’ll be rocking a versatile vegan leather jacket all season long. We’ll stylishly pair our moto jacket with our favorite boyfriend jeans, and on our dressier days, we’ll wear it with a winter maxi dress, and we’ll even rock it with a pencil skirt.   Just consider a vegan jacket part of our winter uniform.

Luckily, if you’re looking for an alternative to a leather jacket, the options are endless.

Ahead, our five editor-approved leather alternative moto jackets that look like the real deal.  The best part? All of these highly covetable jackets are less than $50.

Forever 21 Launching Warner Bros. Cartoon Collection

It was only a few months ago when it was announced that Saturday morning cartoons would soon meet its demise.

Millions of adults who had spent their childhood Saturday mornings watching cartoons such as “Scooby Doo, Where Are You,” “The Jetsons,” and “The Flintstones” screamed foul play.

What would the newest generation of kids be watching on Saturday mornings?

Apparently, cheaply-produced educational programming -- because nothing says weekend fun more than educational programs.

Thankfully, for those that enjoy their Saturday morning cartoons, streaming services like Netflix and Hulu exists, which means you can watch a never-ending catalogue of cartoons anywhere and anytime you'd like.

But streaming services aren’t the only ones who have forever immortalized our favorite cartoon characters.

According to WWD, fast-fashion retailer Forever 21 is reviving the Warner Bros. cartoon characters in a collection set to launch Nov. 28.

The unisex 44-piece collection will feature famous characters from Looney Toons and Hanna-Barbera classic shows.

This November, look out for Bugs Bunny, Tweety Bird, Daffy Duck, Scooby-Doo, The Jetsons and The Flintstones, all of who you’ll see in the upcoming Forever 21 collection.

Th-th-th-that's all folks!

Five Under Fifty: Neutral in Neoprene

Last week marked the launch of the much-anticipated Alexander Wang x H&M collaboration.

As expected, the collection has already sold out and, along the way, there were long, exhausting lines of fans waiting for their taste of some Wang,  multiple fights over merchandise,  and one nasty rumor of a  Wang x H&M child labor factory, which later proved to be false.  Yep. Fashion ain’t pretty, folks - especially when there’s some covetable Wang involved.

The good news is that if you still want your piece of Alexander Wang x H&M history, there’s always Ebay, although you’ll certainly pay a much higher price for the Wang-branded goods.

If you missed out on the neoprene-heavy, neutral-colored collaboration, there are still some great options that don’t require you to drop tons of coin in the way of overpriced eBay goods.

For some Wang-inspired sporty attitude without the high price tag, check out these 5 Alexander Wang x H&M alternatives that we picked out exclusively for you.

They’re all under $50 (score!), dressed in neoprene - fashion’s fabric of the moment (double score!), and all of these covetable pieces will have people asking you, “Is that Wang?”

Mary Katrantzou for Adidas Is the Athletic-Inspired Collection You've Been Waiting For

The sports luxe trend continues in 2014 with Adidas set to launch its second collection collaboration with designer Mary Katrantzou next month. The vivid collection will feature athletic dresses, activewear sweatshirts and several pairs of (badass) sneakers. Couture and cardio, this truly is a match made in heaven!

The collection really captures the essence of Katrantzou signature style but also manages to stay true to the adidas brand. Katrantzou, a master of  bold graphic prints, really proves to be a perfect collaborator for Adidas, a brand we long considered to be synonymous with track suits and Run DMC.

With colorful and energetic prints, this collection will surely motivate you to get back on your workout grind -- and we don't know about you, but this will be a necessity for us once the holidays are over.

The collection is set to start selling in stores on November 15 and will be released as part of the Adidas Originals brand. We think the pieces in this gorgeous collection would be the perfect gift for your fit, yet fashion conscious, friend or family member!

Cannes Fashion Festival to Debut in 2015

You heard right! The world renowned Cannes Film Festival, held annually in May, will now be running alongside a recently announced Cannes Fashion Festival.

The fashion festival will take place from May 20-22 during the well-established film festival. As if the beautiful garments already seen on your favorite celebs at the festival weren't enough!

Couture, lingerie, sportswear, swimwear, and men's/women's accessories are just a few of the categories that are set to be highlighted at the three-day event.

Designers will have the chance to show off their work in catwalk fashion shows and also mingle with their peers at official receptions.

Fashion is not necessarily a new concept to the Cannes crowd, the red carpets during the festival are some of the most photographed in the world. The new festival will only further solidify an already longstanding relationship between fashion and film at Cannes.

The festival will be held at Salon Croisette in the Hotel Majestic Barrière and will be streamed live online so you can watch (enviously) from the comfort of your own home!

Fashion for Cause: Fighting Domestic Violence One Yuwei Lee Accessory At a Time

There are times when fashion comes together with ethics in an effort to bring about change in the world. Yuwei Lee is doing just that with her new Opportunity Collection under her jewelry brand, Yuwei Designs.

Partnering with the United Nations Trust Fund to End Violence Against Women, the West-coast based jewelry designer created eight limited-edition pieces which include 18k gold-plated earrings, bracelets, necklaces, and rings, all of which are designed to "tell a story of strength, power, and dignity."

Speaking about her own personal experience with domestic violence and her inspiration behind the collection, Lee explains, “I am no stranger to domestic violence, so I hope to allow this collaboration to guide my healing process. I am so incredibly connected with this vital work and I am honored to help support it in this way.”

Having symbolic meaning and representing her own life experience, the colors and shapes of Lee's jewelry within the exclusive collection are brought forth out of her own journey. For example, all of Lee's works are in the shape of a teardrop--a symbol which represents the tears of women injured by domestic violence.

100 percent of the net proceeds from Yuwei Designs' Opportunity Collection will be donated to the UN Trust fund for domestic violence victims,  a grant program devoted to preventing violence against women and girls through services and advocacy.

The jewelry is not only serving a great cause, but also beautifully and intricately crafted.  Yuwei Lee is all about the empowerment of women and her handcrafted jewelry is helping to make the world a better place.
