Nicki Minaj is Transformed into Classic Art

W magazine's November issue shows a very regal Nicki Minaj transformed in time, back to the 1700s.

For the cover shoot, the pop artist ditched her signature bling, exaggerated hair, and popping bright colors to become a royal courtesan. The photo spread depicts Minaj portraying various classical portraits of historical courtesans such as Madame de Pompadour and Marquise de Montespan.

Thanks to the Italian artist Francesco Vezzoli and stylist Edward Enniful, Minaj's image resembles the image of a portrait in time.

Conde Nast to Expand to Television

Conde NastMagazine empire, Conde Nast is coming to your T.V.

The publishing giant that owns Vogue and WWD is taking a stab at producing television and film. The new division, Conde Nast Entertainment, which will be led by the former president of the CW network, Dawn Ostroff (who gave us the hit series, America's Next Top Model), will allow the company to draw in other sources of revenue, and reduce its dependency on advertising sales.

The division will produce shows and films that are centered around the Conde Nast brand.

We're hoping to see a Real World series featuring Anna Wintour, Grace Coddington and a set of Vogue interns running rampant in an apartment in the West Village.

Paper, Fashion, Scissors: Innovative Magazine Editorial Styled with Paper Dresses

Turning everyday household items into fashion pieces seem to be the new fad lately.

But this photo shoot for Madame magazine takes the cake for most innovative fashion design. For its editorial themed "Paper Dresses," models wear giant origami-styled dresses fashioned from multi-colored A3 sheets of paper.

The art director and photographer Matthew Brodie insisted that the only tools allowed to be used on the shoot were paper and scissors, and the end result is nothing short of amazing.

In examining the photos, we can see one dress fanned out to form a tutu, and another skin tight mini dress made from cut out strips of multi-colored paper.

The innovative collection takes your everyday hardware from the average toolbox and gives them an extreme make-over.

We love this unique line for its tough glamour. The line will be sold at Barneys and shopbop.com.

Melissa McCarthy

From Bridesmaid to Fashion Designer: Melissa McCarthy to Design Plus-Sized Clothing Line

Melissa McCarthyYou may know actress Melissa McCarthy by her hilarious lead role on the CBS television series Mike and Molly, or maybe as her unquestionably funny, Emmy award-winning character she played in Bridesmaids.

But who would have guessed that the comedian would be interested in fashion?

In an interview with the Hollywood Reporter, McCarthy announced that she would be launching her own plus-sized clothing line.

McCarthy explains that her inspiration for her line came from the fact that she can't find anything in her size that doesn't make her look like a "98-year-old woman or a 14-year-old hooker.”

And, when you think about it, there is some truth to that notion for plus-sized girls, the options are very limited.

When the actress was in her teens, she and friend Brian Atwood, now a famous shoe designer, would flip through the pages of Vogue magazine and fantasize about having their own collections.

After high school, McCarthy briefly studied clothing and textiles before dropping out Southern Illinois University.

Hopefully, McCarthy will design something well worth her efforts.

In part one of the interview, Jacobs, Louis Vuitton’s creative director, comments:

“She wants to be seen, she wants to be noticed…there’s nothing apologetic or shy about it.

She’s strong whether she’s gentle, or whether she’s youthful or more mature, whatever, she’s definitely an extrovert.”

Barbie Gets a Tattoo and Pink Hair Makeover

Say goodbye to Bubblegum and Malibu Barbie and say hello to the world's first Tattooed Barbie by Tokidoki.

This ain't your grandma's Barbie, girls.

Rather, avid Barbie collectors can get a spunkier, tattoo version.

Gone from this doll are the long blonde locks, and predictably clothes that have been replaced by a trendy pink bob and heart, skull-crossed sweater and sequin peep-toes.

Also included is her faithful friend, Bastardino that seems to be a cactus-bulldog hybrid. Leave it to Barbie to give a whole new meaning to the term "designer dog."

Soccer moms are probably freaking out; and we've set the countdown to see just how long it takes for the protests to begin!
