Olivia Palmero

Olivia Palermo to Launch Fashion Website

Olivia Palermo, former reality TV star of the MTV series, The City, will launch her new fashion blog, oliviapalermo.com this week.

While Palermo's icy demeanor made her a villain on the show, her style has earned her praise among fashion notables.

Palermo has hired an impressive team of writers for the blog; and she will author several posts a week and an editor's letter every month. As part of the blog, Palermo will give advice to the everyday girl who may not have the cash flow to spend on high end designer items (though we're not sure that she can actually do this considering her shoes are worth more than most people's wardrobes).
For fans who can't get enough of her, Palermo has hinted that she may start her own fashion line.

Fashimals

Fashimals: Fashion Icons Turned Into Their Animal Doppelgangers

Fashimals

If you ever wondered what Anna Wintour would look like as a hairless cat or Daphne Guinness would look like as a flamingo, you’re in luck.

There’s a new Tumblr.com website in town and it’s called Fashimals.

Basically, the website pairs our favorite fashion icons with their animal doppelgangers, and the results are hilarious.

We especially love Alber Elbaz as an Owl, Grace Coddington as a pigeon, Terry Richardson as a Hamster, Anna Dello Russo as a dog, and Karl Lagerfeld as a cat.

Images From Marilyn Monroe’s First Photo Shoot to be Auctioned

Photographs from Marilyn Monroe's first photo shoot will be auctioned off to the highest bidder.

Photographer Joseph Jasgur, who owns the copyrights to the images of the iconic celebrity is in serious debt, and has been court ordered by the state of Florida to sell the images, photographs and negatives to pay it off.

The photographs, which were taken in 1946, show a young Norma Jean Dougherty, 20-years old, brown hair and bright-eyed.

Needless to say, these historic photos will rack up a good chunk of change.

Jasgur's collection of Monroe will be auctioned at Julien's Auction House this December.

Purrfect Match: Forever 21’s Hello Kitty Line for Adults

We don't care what anybody says, you are never too old for Hello Kitty.

Just ask Mariah Carey.

And it’s apparent that retailer Forever 21 holds that same notion because the brand has teamed up Sanrio, the Japanese brand responsible for Hello Kitty.

Needless to say, we are purring over this partnership.

The Forever 21 Hello Kitty collection includes apparel like adorable varsity sweaters with a Hello Kitty emblem, a light-weight blouse with a pussy bow (our fave!), and an assortment of cardigans and slouchy sweaters. The line also includes accessories and intimates.

Sticking to Forever 21 tradition, each Hello Kitty piece will be under $30.

The line hits Forever 21 stores this November 18.

Burqa Ban: France Hands Out First Fine for Wearing Islamic Veil in Public

Burqa Ban: France Hands Out First Fine for Wearing Islamic Veil in Public

Burqa Ban: France Hands Out First Fine for Wearing Islamic Veil in PublicTwo French Muslim women were fined for wearing niqabs, a veil worn traditionally by Islamic women that covers their entire face with exception of a slit for their eyes. This marks the first punishment given by a judge under France’s “burqa ban” law that went to effect last April.

Hind Ahmas and Najate Nait Ali were convicted and fined by the court 120 and 80 Euros, respectively for wearing their face veils outside of the town hall in Meaux, a town located near Paris.

Last May, Ahmas and Ali purposely wore their veils to a town hall gathering that celebrated the birthday of Mayor Jean-Francois Cope, who also led the Union for Popular Majority, a conservative party that included French President Nicolas Sarkozy. In wearing the veils, the women were protesting the law that they asserted to attack their religious freedom.

Their punishment has reignited a contentious debate in Europe over the violation of Muslims and their religious rights. Anti-burqa laws have been implemented in Belgium and are being considered by other countries such as Italy and Switzerland.

Currently, Ahmas and Ali are appealing the verdict and have asserted that they will take their issue to the European Court of Human Rights.
